Information on Amos' first wife, Nancy Maria Clark, courtesy of Eric Favorite [direct descendent of Lewis Clark Perrin] via 4 August 2006 email

Via 21Dec06 email from Barry Wood, Arlington, VA - I have no Van Wickle blood [that I know of], but found your page on Rachael in connection with the Perrin family [my line]. You don't show parents for her husband Amos Perrin, so I thought you might like that information. Amos was the son of William Porter Perrin and his wife, Mary Burch. Wm Porter Perrin was a brother of my 3rd great grandfather, Ephraim Perrin. "Port" was the slacker in the family as he had only seven children, compared to Ephraim's 26. Amos' birthdate of 30 March as shown on your page matches what I got years ago from Carl Perrin's daughter, now deceased, who in those years was maintaining the Perrin Family Association. However, I noticed that on the LDS Pedigree Referral Service, one Royce Davis has posted a birthdate of 30 May 1810 for Amos. As he also has a precise death date (13 Feb 1891), I imagine that he may have taken his dates from Amos' grave marker; possibly misread--or maybe the information that the rest of us has goes back to some misread piece of handwriting. If Royce is a direct descendent and has the family Bible, I'd give his date some serious credence. Not that Amos would get upset at our modern confusion over his birthdate.
